NHS Northstar was founded in 1988 by John Briski, Tim Larson, Tom Ruper, and Sheldon Schneider with the purpose of helping the developmentally disabled population live in a community-based setting while still having the supports necessary to thrive.
Over the past 30 years, our agency has continued to grow and expand. Today, we are company of 300 employees, operating 28 residential facilities and providing in-home supports to 100 community clients. We are a leader in the use of technology to complement the compassionate care for which we are known.
In 2017, NHS Northstar formed an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which transferred 100% ownership of the company for the benefit of current and future employees. We are proud to be 100% employee owned.
