Health Services Coordinator, RN ($250 Starting Bonus!)

Overview

The Health Services Coordinator (RN) provides supervision to Health Services staff and performs general nursing services to clients residing within our adult foster care homes or served by our agency.

New employee starting bonus to be paid after 90 days of employment:

  • Full-time positions: $250.00

  • $72,800/yr

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Mission, Vision, and Guiding Principles of NHS Northstar
  • Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for safety, confidentiality of data, quality assurance, current rules, agency policies and able to demonstrate mature judgment and able to make programmatic and supervisory decisions
  • Reporting to the Director or Residential Services, the Health Services Supervisor oversees Health Services and its nursing staff (LPN and/or RN)
  • Supervise and provide employees with consistent feedback and support to ensure development and the adherence to company policies/procedure; provide instruction, responds to concerns/issues
  • Assists immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support the department operations as directed, may be assigned special projects
  • Responsible for overseeing the quality of care delivered to clients, ensuring that it is carried out in an ethical and appropriate manner
  • Coordinates with physicians and other healthcare providers and ensures that clients receive the proper medical care determined by the treating healthcare professional
  • Oversees, under the direction of the Director of Residential Services, the administration of medications by unlicensed direct support staff
  • Provides on-going training and support to line staff and management in health related topics
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the healthcare plans, protocols and services to all clients as assigned and/or requested
  • Perform required individual client assessments within license (RN) guidelines
  • Perform or arrange for medical treatments as prescribed
  • Provide and/or arrange for necessary training to agency staff (i.e. medication administration, CPR, First Aid, employee orientation, others as deemed necessary)
  • Understand and remain current with the healthcare needs of assigned clients
  • Provide necessary crisis intervention (medical in nature)
  • Participate in medical appointments with outside agencies
  • Monitor medication and health service practices to clients
  • Manage Psychotropic Medication Use Checklist (PMUC) on individuals with prescribed psychotropic medications
  • Prepare necessary healthcare reports and summaries for clients team meetings and outside agencies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience/Education/Training

  • High School Diploma
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • One (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • One (1) year of experience in a supervisory position is preferred

Regulatory Requirements/Licensure

  • Current Minnesota license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Department of Human Services Background Check
  • Meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to NHS Northstar’s insurance carrier
